What are the worst movies you've seen?  I mean the ones where you'd feel ripped if you even saw them for free.  Movies where you want your time back they were so bad.

The point beyond generating a list is to commiserate, not argue.  If someone lists a movie you liked, let it go.  You could however answer questions to enlighten, but try not to be confrontational.  This is like a pity party to compile the list and elaborate at times about why.  Here we can add to each other's reasons and join together in urinating on some works of 'art.'

0/10s

For me, off the top of my head:

Open Water: A lesson in futility, supposedly based on a true story but really based on supposition.

Alexander: Oh let me count the ways.  Beyond the poor filming of the battles, the ageless mother, bad acting, senseless time jumps..... Ugh!

Wolf Creek: Like Open Water but more gore.  It also claimed to be based on truth to cash in on an ongoing trial upon release - but it was simply hype for the movie.

Fifth Element - A vaguely interesting concept buried under lots of crude sexuality and pimp-like outfits.

Golden Compass - An unoriginal fantasy world set up to make people hate Catholics. (What did it for me were the husky people in the northern snow named "Samoyeds".)

Harry Potter 4 - The visuals were too bizarre, the real plot was clipped to pieces, unnecessary parts were elongated, the characters were acting rather out of character, and even the people who knew the book by heart could hardly figure out what was going on.

There are some movies that most people think were pretty bad, but I actually liked. They include:

Small Soldiers - A movie that aimed at several genres at once and therefore managed to hit a very small segment of the population, including me.

Stealth - Yeah, it was kind of silly and predictable, but it was a fun action movie and the explosions looked good in the theater.

My list...WORST MOVIES EVER

Open Water
Agree with Kersus on this one!  What a disgustingly slow movie. The whole time, I was just thinking "I wish the sharks would hurry up and eat them"!!!

S Darko Just watched this this past weekend.  Really slow, missed ALL the points of the original Donnie Darko and just through crap in that was TOTALLY unnessasary.

Exorcist  Maybe the problem is I first saw this when I was 19...Maybe by then I was desensitized...Maybe there was just to much hype about this being the scariest movie ever...but I found it really dull, really boring and not in the least scary.

Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, starring the Bee Gees and Peter Frampton.

This is the worst movie in the history of movies.

I win.

Or rather, we all lose.

"Sleepers" - From the poster, we thought it was an action adventure movie like Eraser or Die Hard or something.

It wasn't.

Only movie I've gone to see in the theater and walked out partly through.

I actually liked Sleepers...but then I wasn't expecting an action.  I thought it was a good drama!

Twister - "My daddy died in a tornado so now I have to get this machine into one so my daddy's death need not be in vain." Just a horrible piece of crap. The movie should have been 90 minutes of Jami Gertz in her wet wife beater. That would be an immensely better movie with a better plot and drama; Jami Gertz in a wet t-shirt.

And Top Secret is an amazing movie. Almost as good as The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension.

I actually loved Twister, mostly because I saw it in college, when I got to hang out with a group for the first time in my entire life and feel like I belonged... and that group was very much like Jo's group. We even had one guy, Ben, who looked and acted just like Dusty.

I disagree with you but that just means I lose right?

Careful.  I'm Gonna Git You, Sucka is a good movie.

I don't care enough to look it up but I thought that the Scary movies were the Wayans (with 3 being Jerry Zucker) and the other *Movies were some other guys that make the younger Wayans look like they have talent. (Damon and Keenen Ivory are talented, they just haven't been applying it lately.)

No complaints about Jami Gertz!

Napoleon Dynamite - I forced myself to watch the whole movie awaiting some illumination to it's popularity.
